A Ship In A Bottled Storm

I met someone today But it wasn’t you They had your face I recognized a scar or two Something else has replaced What I thought I knew Memories are a failed grace A ghost in your shoes All this swallowed rage Makes my stomach ache A ship in a bottled storm You don’t seem to exist anymore How can you spit your nonchalance In my battered face Such a twisted dance, upon Rubble of a sacred place Night breaks into the dawn A new start does not erase My aim is true, my guns are drawn At your demon race All this swallowed rage Makes my stomach ache A ship in a bottled storm You don’t seem to exist anymore

I’ve got to keep myself busy I’ve got to keep my mind occupied I can’t stop to think for too long I can’t get on that ride It’s a rickety track It’s a slippery slide Its cannonball warfare A stumble off the high dive Thick skin, strong back But a fracture inside A drive to create what’s better Situations in front of my eyes When there’s none left to conquer What I fight lies behind I fall back in the trap That these demons devised

I did not expect anyone to ever actually find the bottle containing this message. Chances are you are not the person it is meant for. But none the less it’s a miracle you found it. Perhaps whoever reads this might find it helpful in some way. _______________________________________________________ I don’t know where it went so bad That you thought it couldn’t recover I wish I could go back to that moment And change the pieces You brought me back from a place that I didn’t realize Was as terrible as it was Stagnancy chips away. I am so glad that you took me from there But now I can only compare it to Teaching someone to fish in a lake with but only a few fish left The great ship of realization Crashing into the reef Enlightenment shines upon the dark corners too I would never want to undo my time with you But I hurt to be near you It’s like digging up an old keepsake You buried in the backyard of your old home Years later, with the current family watching Walking on eggshells, where I used to dance naked They say it’s better to have loved and lost Than to have never loved at all I don’t necessarily disagree It’s just a bitter pill to swallow Bitter as me They say ignorance is bliss I don’t recognize you anymore Something is different I want my friend back more than my lover Was there an imposter in your skin? The person I know wouldn’t have done those things I don’t know if I want the answers I must be different too They say ignorance is bliss Enlightenment shines upon the dark corners too Stagnancy chips away I want to dance naked Nothing will ever be the same after you But after all this, I’ve realized That, that isn’t saying much For everything can change in an instant It’s just that this in this case I wish it weren’t true I want my friend back more than my lover But I want my lover too I don’t know where you are I don’t know where I am But if you find this I hope it helps I miss you

about

My seas were rough, so I put my storm in a bottle, and threw it back into the storm.

This album is nothing but a healing release.

Listen whilst sailing, or by yourself in a dimly lit area/room with some wine and/or whiskey.

Fun facts: the message in a bottle used for the cover can be found at Shell Beach In Bodega Bay, CA, at the very center of the labyrinth on Kortum Trail. If one were so inclined as to go and find it, please read it and leave it.
